  • Improves the quality of life for the patient in pain

Is the Laser Treatment Safe?

Yes laser therapy is safe, painless, non-invasive and drug-free.

Does it Work?

Our clinic has an 86% success rate in reducing or eliminating pain. While we can not eliminate all types of pain, most musculoskeletal pain can be alleviated. To find out if we can help you call us today.

Will it Hurt?

Because the laser is "cold", meaning a low power level, you won't feel any pain, heat or discomfort.

How Many Times Will I Need Treatment?

Laser therapy produces results quickly. For most acute conditions 2-3 treatments is all you will need. Chronic conditions take longer and might require 6 - 12 treatments. While these are the averages, each person is unique and healing time varies by person and condition. For those with lifelong conditions we are able to get patients on a 1-2 month maintenance schedule.

How Long Will Treatment Take?

Depending on the condition, treatment times will last on average 15 minutes but is based on the size of area, depth of penetration and condition being treated. TMJ patients average 5-7 minutes while a full spinal treatment can take as long as 25 minutes.

How Soon Before I Can be Active Again?

The moment you leave the clinic you may resume your normal daily activity. Even though you may feel better, do not over exert yourself; remember, your body is healing. Take the next 24 hours and enjoy the results of your treatment.

Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the gentle insertion of very fine needles at specific points on the body. This process stimulates energy within the body, allowing natural healing to take place. It is part of the 3000 year old holistic system of healing known as Traditional Oriental Medicine. Acupuncture can be used to treat existing illnesses and injuries, prevent both the recurrence of illnesses and new illness, and for improving overall health.  It is a safe, effective and drug free therapy that can address a wide variety of health problems.

How does Acupuncture work?
The Classical Chinese explanation is that energy (Qi) flows in channels throughout the body. These channels are like rivers of energy referred to as meridians. The meridians are a basic energy map of the body. Each major organ in the body is associated with its own meridian and all parts of the body are all connected through theses meridians. It is believed that health is a manifestation of balance. When the body is balanced Qi flows smoothly through the meridians to nourish the organs and tissues. If an obstruction occurs the Qi is cannot flow properly which leads to a state of dis-ease and often illness occurs.
Physical and emotional trauma, stress, lack of exercise, overexertion, seasonal changes, poor diet and accidents are among the many things that can influence the quality, quantity and balance of qi.

Acupuncture Points
Acupuncture points are the specific points on the meridians where the Qi is both concentrated and accessible. Acupuncture engages the Qi by inserting needles at these specific points, the goal being to restore the proper flow of Qi. As the body regains its natural balance, well-being returns.

Acupuncture and Modern Science
In Western science, a stimulus is defined as a detectable change in the body. With modern technology scientists can now actually begin to "see" the body's response to acupuncture. For example, using an MRI, corresponding changes occur in the brain upon insertion of the needles at specific points. Acupuncture points are now believed to stimulate the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) often releasing endorphins and other hormones that influence the self-regulating system of the body.

What to expect at my appointment
Staysea will make a Chinese medical diagnosis based upon a full health history, thorough examination and consultation. Questions will be asked regarding health, symptoms and lifestyle. Gathering this information enables her to effectively diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of qi that may have contributed to one’s health problems. Then a well-structured treatment plan that will work for you can be created. The initial appointment may last from 45-90 minutes.
When receiving a treatment, you may experience a vague numbness, heaviness, tingling or dull ache where the needle has been inserted. It is definitely an individual experience but know that sensation is a sign of movement and that the treatment is working.  After the treatment you may feel energized or even a deep sense of relaxation.

What about Herbal Therapy?
The 4 years of extensive and comprehensive graduate training received as an acupuncturist includes an in-depth study of acupuncture and herbs, among other things. Herbs can be a powerful adjunct to acupuncture.  They are used to strengthen, build and support the body or to clear it of excess conditions like colds, fever or acute pain for example. It makes sense, in many cases, to help build a person’s internal strength so they can receive the full benefits that acupuncture has to offer.

Will my insurance cover acupuncture?
Each plan varies. Our office will contact your provider and find out if acupuncture is covered, how many visits per year, if you need a referral, if you have a co-pay, if you have a deductible and if it is met.  Feel free to contact your provider and obtain this information prior to your visit.
Rates vary depending upon what procedures are performed.

What is Hellerwork?

The World's Finest System of Structural Bodywork Hellerwork is a powerful, integrated system of structural bodywork, movement education and dialogue. Hellerwork makes the connection between movement, body alignment and personal awareness. By freeing natural movement, balancing the body's structure and opening up expression, Hellerwork allows you to optimize how you use your body. Hellerwork engages the human being through structure, function, emotion and energy. The body is realigned using proven connective tissue reorganization techniques. Current movement habits are brought to awareness then released and natural ease emerges.  Although Hellerwork may be effective for temporary pain or tension relief, we recognize that pain and tension are usually the result of an overall pattern of imbalance occurring in the person. Rather than treating the pain or tension "symptom" of this imbalance, Hellerwork focuses on rebalancing the entire body, returning it to a more aligned, relaxed and youthful state. Balance is not a static condition; it is a process of constant flux - a fluid expression of wholeness and ease.

Hellerwork's three components:

Bodywork
A "hands on" process where the practitioner works with you to release chronic tension and rigidity in your body. This results in a more improved posture, greater flexibility & ease, and less discomfort.

Movement Education
Movement education helps you become aware of your set movement habits and assists you in finding new patterns of balance and alignment in your everyday life as well as in your sports and work activities. This in turn prevents the return of tension to your body.

Dialogue

Dialogue with your practitioner allows you to recognize any of your ongoing attitudinal patterns which contribute to tension in your body. It will give you insights into how your emotions and beliefs influence your body's well being. In dialogue you will uncover new, easy to use ways to deal with your particular life's stresses and upsets.

There are eleven sessions to the series and can be scheduled for your convenience. The whole series can be completed in as little as a week or it can be spread out over a period of months if you desire. The sessions are approximately 90 min's to 2 hours long.
